Then the [a](A)magicians, the conjurers, the [b]Chaldeans and the diviners came in and I related the dream [c]to them, but they could not make its (B)interpretation known to me. But finally Daniel came in before me, whose name is (C)Belteshazzar according to the name of my god, and in whom is [d](D)a spirit of the holy gods; and I related the dream [e]to him, saying, ‘O Belteshazzar, (E)chief of the magicians, since I know that (F)a spirit of the holy gods is in you and (G)no mystery baffles you, (H)tell me the visions of my dream which I have seen, along with its interpretation.
